I'm sure it would work just fine if at the right degree. I imagine something to the effect of having time stop when in safe zones at night, and being left with two choices: Go out in the night and fight or run for your survival, or pay/lose some precious points to take it easy. What I'm driving at doesn't just suggest making the game "balls to the wall" hard, but opening up a way for a real challange, should you accept it.Īnd I still think being able to sleep through the actual challange in hard mode is kinda sad. And a player could always take the easier, less challanging, and perhaps most importantly "less time consuming" route to max level on normal first. I guess I just think it should be a serious challange to level up in Hard mode, since it doesn't take much to give you all you need. Being that he's around level ~22 or so, That still seems a modest amount for the circumstance. :/Ī friend just told me he lost 10,000 points from each death in the Museum boss fight on Hard. Since all the leveling is easily completed on a normal playthrough, I couldn't help but feel like it's kinda. I'll go ahead and admit that I've been level 25 since I've started Hard, so I've never seen any amounts to judge in that. The highest (point loss) I ever saw towards the end of my normal game was ~4000, and that seemed a rarity. Yes! It certainly is a case where you'll level up without even trying. For example, a quest could grant you 15,000xp, and if you die 6 times in the process of completing it, you still come out with 10,000xp or more. Yes, and the rate which you gain XP is almost impossible to hinder through penalties. you advance your character by doing quests in a quest-based game? The horror! Not a normal circumstance, I know, but it sure made the penalty seem VERY redundant to me. Of course a person could do this if they put forth the effort, but that's just it- I can't believe how much effort it took. At one point, trying to keep from leveling beyond the current range I was working on, I found it took several intentional deaths, over and over again, to keep from gaining way more XP then I would lose. I, personally, was looking to find every available weapon at each of the different tiers that are there as you level. So, you're response to this is "Likely".? P. I guess I am just looking at the opposite end of the spectrum- if you are awarded points for surviving outside the safe zones at night, while hiding out is clearly the opposite. The only real challange I find in Hard mode is at night, and being able to avoid it penalty free is not very "hard" IMO. Sleeping through the night is the easy way out. we should lose survivor points for surviving? Makes sense. Cause that would make sense, like you twisting my words. :)Īnd a big "lol" at "so you don't want to level up". There's still room for "people like you" in this game. And in case you missed it, I say at least in hard mode. It's about slowing the ridiculously fast leveling process. Let's bastardize the gameplay a little more just so ppl like you are happier. Perhaps they could implement it along with my idea of cutting off the legs of Crane, because I dislike how they look, and no matter how many times I jump off from a high place, those ugly legs just won't break.Įscrito originalmente por upcoast:So you don't want to level up and the rest of us should pay the price for it. Not to mention the amounts I've managed to lose on death in no way compare to what I get from any quest that's current to my standards. Not only is saving survivors a bad idea, but you have to get the hell out of there in case they manage to save themselves, in which case you get points (!?). No casually doing it while accomplishing other tasks. My biggest reason for saying this is because I've been in the position of trying to keep from leveling up.Read first reply. Things like how long it is until daytime, how high your Survivor level is, and your progress in the story (%).So. That should cost you a number of Survivor points based on a few variables.
